July 7, 2011 After more than 13 years of accepting Bed and Breakfast guests at Walkinshaw Place, we have decided to rather promote our Whole House Rental. Bed and Breakfast guests will be accepted on only the following dates this summer: August 12, and 13, 2011. Walkinshaw Place welcomes you to reserve 1 or more rooms as you come out to the Turtle Mountains this summer. You may also choose the exclusive whole house rental option for your group if you would like to enjoy Walkinshaw Place in privacy. Walkinshaw Place does also offer group vacation packages, so, we invite you to make plans with your families and friends, and come out to the beautiful Turtle Mountains of Manitoba. Do you suppose that we just enjoyed our last winter snow
fall? Well, spring is surely around the corner, and we can all be
thinking about our summer vacation plans. Manitoba Provincial Parks
should again be popular this year, as the entrance fees are again waived
until April 2012.

is time to be thinking of your Christmas Vacation plans with family and

We are excited to be hosting a musical evening with our
daughter Rhonda, at Walkinshaw Place on Friday, October 7th.

should you wonder, Peter's calving season is almost done, and there are
57 healthy little calves out on the hillside waiting for the snow to
disappear! Here is one set of twins about 2 days old, born early March.|
January 23, 2011 We have had lots of snow this season. The snowmobile trails in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park have now opened and grooming has taken place. Check the Snoman website for all the latest snowmobile trail conditions. The cross-country ski trails in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park are in excellent condition, so wax those skis and come out for a great time of skiing in the Turtle Mountains. |
December 20, 2010 As we reflect on the past year, the snow is gently falling outdoors in the Turtle Mountains. We wish all of our guests a wonderful Christmas season and best wishes for the New Year, 2011! We have already been able to enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing and the snow conditions are just perfect for these outdoor activities. We also look forward to spending time with our family at the Turtle Mountain Winter Park during the holiday season. Perhaps we'll see you there!!!

Summer in the Turtle Mountains means hiking, golfing, fishing,
boating, kayaking, swimming, campfires, and just enjoying a
beautiful Manitoba summer. Golfers are coming out to enjoy the challenge of the area golf courses: the Killarney 18-hole, Boissevain and Deloraine 9-hole. |

May 19, 2010 This past weekend the Manitoba Fly Fishers Association made Walkinshaw Place their home. "Fishing stories - pot luck dinners - great fishing weather". They had a tremendous weekend of fishing at William Lake in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park. We've got some great photos from the members .....

This morning we awoke to 20 cm of fresh snow that had fallen overnight in the Turtle Mountains. The photos tell the story! Happy Easter Weekend! |

Our guests last weekend enjoyed great family time as they chose the whole house rental and spent the weekend celebrating a special family occasion and snowmobiling on the trails in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park and other Southwestern Manitoba trails. |

February 15, 2010 We have had lots of fresh snow in the last few days. The group out for the February long weekend had this to say: "Our tenth year here for a weekend of skiing, sledding, playing board games, making music & eating! It's been great, as ever". Today the sky is blue with the shadows on the snow reflecting a blue hue - just beautiful! And - wasn't yesterday a great golden moment for Canada - the first Olympic Gold Medal on Canadian soil! Congratulations to Alexandre Bilodeau! |

December 31, 2009 Walkinshaw Place has been full of groups of families and friends this Christmas and New Year's season as they celebrate this holiday season together. Exclusive Whole House Rental offers groups this opportunity. The wonderful winter scenery enables the groups to enjoy the cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park. |
Today
we wish to announce the birth of the first calf from our cattle herd for
2010. Beginning in February we expect about 60 newborn calves this
spring at Walkinshaw Place. We have a great sheltered indoor "nursery
area" in the calving barn. 
Spent
2 days cross country skiing with friends on the Turtle Mountain
Provincial Park trails at Adam Lake. The trails were freshly groomed and
tracked - just superb! We also keep our own 3 km trail tracked right
here at Walkinshaw Place.
